Ubisoft organizes Diversity and Inclusion Weeks at the studio

Semaines Diversité et Inclusion
Harmonie Freyburger, Joséphine Ung and Navid Khavari at the round table:taking into account our vulnerabilities at work

For several years now, Ubisoft has been organizing diversity and inclusion weeks with talks from experts outside and inside the group. In 2021, the event took place from November 29 to December 10, allowing our employees to participate in several conferences around diversity and ways to be more inclusive in our work environments

Event kick-off with Raashi Sikka

The conferences started with an introduction by Raashi Sikka, VP Global Diversity & Inclusion at Ubisoft who stressed the importance of organizing these moments for the well-being and creative richness of our teams. This was followed by a discussion with Hailey Barnard, a specialist in inclusive workplace practices and unconscious bias.

Comedian and producer Vérino spoke at a roundtable discussion on the role of men in gender diversity.

Hundreds of Ubisoft employees in France were able to attend and participate in numerous discussions and workshops on disability and accessibility, racism, origins and intersectionality, the experience of our LGBTQ+ colleagues and inclusive management. We received testimonies and insights from several external speakers such as the comedian Vérino, the dancer-choreographer and activist Boléwa Sabourin as well as Maxime Ruszniewski, former ministerial advisor for women’s rights, producer and entrepreneur (all of whom participated in the round table on the role of men in gender equality). The doctor in social psychology, Racky Ka-Sy, a specialist in the impact of discrimination, also brought her insights through her research.

Our teams at the studio also organized interventions, notably on the representation of Afro-descendant characters in cinema and video games. It was an opportunity to reflect on the actions implemented by Ubisoft, but also to listen to the testimonies of our colleagues.
